第二季改编自Laurence Leamer的畅销书籍《Capote’s Women A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era》。 著名作家Truman Capote（Tom Hollander饰）与一小群最精英的女性交往密切，她们都是富有、魅力四射的社交名媛，定义了纽约上流社会过去的一个时代，而Capote将她们称为“天鹅”。这群美丽又出名的女性包括了贵妇人Barbara “Babe” Paley （Naomi Watts饰）、Slim Keith（Diane Lane饰）、C.Z.
